I'm having a rare moment here....What is really going on with Black Reality TV or Reality TV that shows black people?
It's bad enough that we are often shown negatively-arguing, fighting, never getting along but even black love that is shown on TV seems to have ever present issues.
Two shows that I'm almost ashamed to admit that I tune into are Harlem Heights on MTV(which does not show the Harlem that I know and love) and Taking the Stage(based in Cincinnati at the School for the Performing Arts).
Both shows do what they were intended to do but I find myself doing what my grandmother, aunts and and mother did back in the day when I was forced to watch their Soaps with them, SCREAMING AT THE TV!
Last night I'm watching lil Tyler(the cute hip-hop dancer who's sexuality I question)playing with the even cuter Jasmine' s heart(the Julliard bound ballet dancer). He kisses and flirts with Mia, very talent singer at the school, yet turns around and tell Jasmine he loves her and wants to be with her. Dude needs to kill himself and man up...If you know you don't want to be with one girl, then don't play with her heart and say, "I Love You!"
Harlem Heights is a mess of a "show" in more ways than love but I had some serious issues with the Ashlie, Brooke(I call her MEAN GIRL), and Morehouse Man Christian.
Chris-being a MAN, flirts and goes out with Ashlie and then ends up kissing Brooke...AT ASHLIE'S JOB! Drama....Brooke originally went out with Chris' boy Pierre but felt he was too "lame and boring" because she is used to guys who are more drama filled(she dated Kanye West, and we know he is howyoudoin')
My question is, Where is the Real Black Love Being Shown On TV-Reality or Regular Shows?
Melanie and Derwin-broke up
Derwin and Janay-either the condom broke or they didn't use one
Ray J and his sexy ladies-just say their names on your head
Dawn and Que-he is a sissy and she looks a little like a man
Lisa and Ed Hartwell-best friends and judys
Lisa and Ed Hartwell-best friends and judys
WHERE IS THE BLACK LOVE ON TV???
