MY CLUB EXPERIENCE RIDAY NIGHT....

I don't go out often in Atlanta at all. I have lived here for about 9 years and remember the glory days of Khia, Visions, the Compound as well as the ORIGINAL Fusions, Traxx when it was the shit and located across from our new aquarium(it isn't all that new anymore), when the Palace was the shit on Sunday before it was closed then re-opened as Trademark and now finally closed again. I remember Traxx on Monday, Traxx on Tuesday were the supposed thugs were supposed to be...the other side of the Velvet Room on Wednesday, Thursday was Bulldogs or Phase 1 or the Palace and on Friday you had your pick of Khia, 112, Fusions or Bulldogs. Saturday was Traxx or Backstreets and if you were REALLY banjee 708...(previously Loretta's)

Note: Banjee or banjee boy is a term from the 1980s or earlier that describes a certain type of young Latino, Black, or multiracial man who has sex with men and who dresses in stereotypical masculine urban fashion for reasons which may include expressing masculinity, hiding his sexual orientation and attracting male partners. The term is mostly associated with New York City and may be Nuyorican in origin.

I remember Esso's original location across from Glady's Knights on the backside and know all of the locations where the legendary club 112 has been...

I'm either too old (I turn 27 in July), been here too long or started going out way TOO early....

I'm not impressed by any of the straight, gay or down low clubs in Atlanta anymore...And this is THE NEW BLACK MECCA(DC who???)

With all of the black people who have moved to Atlanta and all of the black students who come to Atlanta every year to go to school, why isn't Atlanta catering to us?

I personally feel that there needs to be a party district like Bourbon Street , the Castro District or the part of East St. Louis were all the clubs are or some designated area where there is nothing but clubs and restaurants and entertainment....like the Village in NYC

The reason for this semi-rant is I went out, don't go out very often and stayed in the club for less then 10 minutes.....I wasn't even in the long enough to start smelling like smoke!!! I went out to a supposedly popular club here in Atlanta and there were probably less than 50 people in the whole spot....I don't know if I picked a bad night or a bad weekend or what...It was Easter.

I went to a house party the week before last that had more people than that. I'm saying, I remember going out on a regular night in Atlanta and my friends and people visiting bugging out because they only got crowds like that on a holiday weekend or when something major was going on...

What has happened to the club scene in Atlanta???
