For what it's worth, a recent study found that women find men 12% more attractive in a plain white short-sleeved t-shirt. The humble white t-shirt is considered to be a head turner.

So forget expensive designer clothes, a simple t-shirt could be the best way to capture a woman's heart. 

Now this doesn't mean be sloppy, but a fresh white t-shirt neatly paired with jeans, nice shoes, and blazer is a sure fire way to subtlety draw attention to your substance. 

The study found that the shirt creates an illusion that broadens shoulders and slim the waist, producing a more V-shaped body -- a sign of masculinity. 

The best results were observed in participants who were most out of shape, with already toned individuals only gaining a slight increase in perceived attractiveness.
